Rescue Me ID: 16-08-16-00156Chloe the Cavapoo (female)

Cavalier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Chloe is a beautiful, seven-year-old, eighteen-pound, Cavapoo looking for a very special dog-savvy loving guardian. A Cavapoo is a hybrid of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Miniature Poodle. Chloe was purchased from a breeder at eight weeks of age and has been loved and well cared for since that time. Chloe just wants to cuddle with her person. She has a sweet disposition and gets along well with other dogs. She has never met a cat. She is still a puppy at heart and has a lot of life left in her. She does have history of resource-guarding - specifically with articles of clothing, like socks, underwear and sometimes towels. If she ... (Read More)gets these items and someone tries to take them from her she will become aggressive. So, in order to get an object from her it is necessary to trade her for a high value treat. Since her family has one toddler and a second child on the way, they can no longer work on her issues while keeping the children safe. So, she is looking for an all-adult dog-savvy household where someone will love her while managing her behavior. Chloe is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and micro-chipped. She does at times have a sensitive stomach so she takes a Pepcid tablet before bed. She eats grain-free food. Chloe was crated when younger, but is perfectly housebroken and not crated in the last six years. When left alone at home she may bark for just a few seconds but otherwise she will just sleep. She lived in a high rise for five years so she is good in elevators and loves to go on walks. To meet and possibly adopt Chloe, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com to fill out an adoption application or ask questions. Her adoption fee of $300 benefits rescued pets. She is currently being cared for in Glenview, Illinois. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-08-00452Ramsey (male)

Cavalier    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our adoption donations vary based on the age and health of the rescued dog, as well the cost of their medical care and others in need; Ramsey's fee is-$650. Our dogs came from private homes due to changes in their owners. Ramsey is healthy, about 7mth old puppy and has the typical sweet and endearing Cavalier temperament and was seen by our veterinarians for a physical examination, up to date on vaccines, and altered. We are looking for in a family that have the time and love to give a him with a good history of having taken great care of a pet with that know such practices in feeding/training/exercise, with ability and willingness to care ... (Read More)for health issues if arises, and a stable lifestyle. And if there are children, Cavaliers are known to be wonderful with well-behaved, gentle children and enjoy their company. He loves to play and climb all over you. If it looks like you'll be the best match the process proceeds with a informal telephone interview, reference check, a visit with the foster family where the adoption normally occurs. We believe it is very important for families to meet Ramsey and to spend enough time to know that a good match is being made, both for the dog and themselves. see www.cavalierhealth.org for information (Less)

lnteresting Cavalier Trivia Low-Cost Illinois Spay & Neuter Clinics
The Cavalier King Charles is descended from toy spaniels seen in sixteenth through eighteenth century paintings. King Charles II was the inspiration for Cavalier King Charles spaniels as he owned and was painted with similar small dogs. King Charles Spaniels were the subject of an edict from the King that the dogs could not be prohibited from any public place including the houses of Parliament.
