Rescue Me ID: 18-01-16-00057Foxy (female)

Cavalier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Foxy 1 1/2 yr old female Papillion King Charles spaniel 20 lbs Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped. Adoption fee $250.00 Good with dogs; kids over the age of 10 years. Foxy is definitely, well, foxy! She's a beautiful redhead with long silky hair. With her delicate features and slender frame, she gets lots of attention from admirers, that's for sure! Although a little intimidated by strangers, Foxy is extremely sweet, cuddly and affectionate with her people. She loves to be held close and stroked while you talk softly to her. She's a great lap dog and will snuggle right next to you to watch movies; if you share your ... (Read More)popcorn with her, all the better! Foxy does fine with other dogs and will run around in a yard with them, but really doesn't engage in play. She's too much of a lady for that! Foxy definitely needs a fenced in yard as she's likes to keep in shape; she's not hyperactive but she does enjoy the ability to run and explore. Foxy has done pretty well on potty training; she just needs a little more time to completely grasp it. Our girl's only perceivable fault is that when she's on a leash, she becomes very reactive to other dogs. Off leash she is fine with them. Some training has been done with her and she improved but for this reason we aren't recommending her as an apartment dog. Because of her initial shyness with new people, we recommend no children under 10 years as they might be stressful for her. Let us know if you'd like to adopt this sweetheart of a dog! If you are interested in adopting, the first step before a meet and greet is set up is to fill out an adoption application. One can be found at (Less)

lnteresting Cavalier Trivia Low-Cost Indiana Spay & Neuter Clinics
The Cavalier King Charles is descended from toy spaniels seen in sixteenth through eighteenth century paintings. King Charles II was the inspiration for Cavalier King Charles spaniels as he owned and was painted with similar small dogs. King Charles Spaniels were the subject of an edict from the King that the dogs could not be prohibited from any public place including the houses of Parliament.
