Rescue Me ID: 16-04-30-00108Josie (female)

Cavalier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We got Josie when she was a puppy from a local breeder. At that time we did not have any kids, now we have two small children. We have decided to place her in another home because we don't feel that we are the best fit for her any longer with out attention mainly on the kids and rarely on her. She's a good dog and LOVES people. We have a cat and they get along very well and 'play' together. Our small children play with Josie and she does fairly well with it but growls if the kids get too aggressive but she never bites. She will be 4 years old around summer/fall. She's in good health and has never had any medical issues. She is a red poodle ... (Read More)and cavalier king charles spaniel mix. Currently weighs about 16-18 pounds. She does not shed and we get her groomed ever other month and she's cute with short or long hair :) We never fully trained her which means she knows sit, stay and come but she obeys about 50% of the time. She is potty trained and rings a bell when she needs to go out but sometimes she will pee in the house if you don't let her out in time. I'm sure with proper training she will obey 100% and not have any accidents. She is eager to satisfy so I think she would learn quickly. When we leave the house (and she stays home) she gets anxious so she whines, she may have some separation anxiety. Currently she is in a kennel during the work day (7am-5pm) and then she is out with us the rest of the night and sleeps in our bed. We leave food and water out for her at all times so she is not fed at specific times. She will beg for human food and tries to grab it when you're not looking. All of these things I'm sure can be corrected with the proper training. We hope to place her with someone who is committed to keeping her forever. We feel horrible that we won't be those people to her and want to make sure she doesn't keep getting passed around. (Less)
