King Charles II was the inspiration for Cavalier King Charles spaniels as he owned and was painted with similar small dogs. Cavaliers have a white spot on their foreheads referred to as the Kiss of Buddha or Kissing Spot. About half of all Cavaliers have a congenital blood disorder characterized by an insufficient level of platelets, and may develop bleeding and clotting problems.
